Antioxidant Solution to Weight Control

The good news is that eating a diet rich in antioxidants can be one of the best ways you can lose those unwanted pounds.

Want to drop a few pant sizes? Want to lose inches off your waist, thighs and arms? Want to feel that surge of youthful energy? Want to have glowing skin? What about sharper mental focus, or improved sexual health? You can! And it’s with a high-antioxidant or high ORAC diet.

Finally scientists and dietitians are talking about it, the mainstream media is reporting it and authors are writing books about it. But a Healthy Chocolate company has understood the importance of antioxidants for a long time. In fact, they have set the standard for testing and certification of the antioxidant content—in the form of an ORAC score— on it’s healthy chocolate products. All of their products are tested for their ORAC score by Brunswick labs, an independent laboratory that certifies the ORAC content of foods and products for consumer education.

ORAC is the acronym for “oxygen radical absorption capacity” and refers to the levels of antioxidant nutrients in a specific food (although some people still think ORAC stands for Orgasmic Reactions Around Chocolate). Not surprisingly, all of the products of this healthy chocolate company—including a high antioxidant protein meal replacement shake—are some of the highest-scoring, certified ORAC foods available today. And they’re the perfect cornerstone for a high-antioxidant, ORAC-rich diet for losing weight and enhancing overall wellness.

“Several kinds of tests are used to measure a food’s antioxidant power,  another reason for the multiplicity of findings. The most popular test is Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC). Orac measures an antioxidant’s ability to protect against the most common free radical in human pasma…” (CNN, 2008)
